Granny Parker

One year ago today Granny Parker went to meet her Maker and to reunite with my PaPa. It was not easy to let her go but we all know in our hearts that she was ready to be with her Lord and see my PaPa again. Our saving grace is that we know they are both now looking over us and protecting us.

I know this is suppose to be a blog about our upcoming little addition and I assure you that it is. In just six weeks, Miss McKinney will enter this world with a name that will help us to always remember Granny. McKinney is Granny Parker's maiden name. I am determined to make sure that she knows who her Great Granny was and how special she was to all of us.

Go Rest High On That Mountain Granny...you deserve it!

I love you!

3D/4D Ultra Sound

Yesterday Todd, my momand I got to see little McKinney Rae in a 3D/4D ultrasound. She did so good and let the tech get some really great pictures of her. During our visit she got the hiccups once and she tried to eat her foot but mommy giggled and she could not get it in her mouth. She also yawned pretty big several times and when she was done, she had a sweet smile on her face. We also got to see her sucking (eating) the flavor from mommy's roast beef sandwich she had at lunch. YUMMY! We had a great time yesterday and now more than ever, can't wait to meet and hold our baby girl.

Doctor Visit

On January 7th we made our monthly visit to see Dr. Waters. McKinney's heart rate was 159 and we could hear it much clearer since she is getting much bigger. Again, Dr. Waters measured my belly and I am still right on track. We will have one more 4 week visit then we will go down to three weeks then two then one. On my next visit I have to do the glucose test to see if I have gestational diabetes's. She will also check to see how my iron level is doing. So far, I am feeling great. Our next appointment is February 4th.

Oh, I am also feeling her move around a lot. I have decided that she is going to be quite the swimmer. I think sometimes I feel her doing the breast stroke in there.

It's A.....

GIRL!

I know most people know this already but I haven't updated this blog in a while so I wanted to make sure I include this since it will be like a little record of my pregnancy for McKinney to read when she is older. On December 18th we went to the hospital for my 20 week ultrasound and everything looked wonderful from what the doctor can see. He also gave us no doubt that it was a girl. As I mentioned above, her name will be McKinney Rae. McKinney is my grandmother's (dad's mom) maiden name and Rae is my middle name. We are very axious to welcome our little girl into our lives.

SNOW IN SOUTH LOUISIANA!/Baby update

I did not believe it myself. It started when my friend from work called and said she had 3 inches of snow at her house in North Covington. When I got to work, my mom said that dad called and it was snowing at Dow in Taft, LA, a few minutes later mom called and it was snowing at our house in Luling, 20 minutes later, it is falling in New Orleans! Some co-workers and I went outside to "play" in the snow and took some pictures. I felt like a kid again!

Also Todd and I went to the doctor yesterday and all is still looking wonderful. I only gained one pound in the month so that was very exciting. We got to hear the heartbeat again and it was at 160. While we were listening for the heartbeat, we heard this strange noise and I asked the nurse what is was and she said that the baby moved. I guess I would move too if someone was poking at me. We go back to the doctor on Thursday December 18th to find out what we are having!

I hope everyone gets to play in the snow today!

November 12th Doctor Visit

Just a short update. We visited the doctor again yesterday and everything is progressing just as it should. We got to hear the heart beat for the first time (153), what a soothing sound, it really verifies that there is a real little life inside of me. Dr. Waters measured my belly and everything was great. We scheduled our 20 week ultrasound where we will hopefully find out the sex of the baby. We go on December 18th! I can't wait to share the news.
