SNOW IN SOUTH LOUISIANA!/Baby update

I did not believe it myself. It started when my friend from work called and said she had 3 inches of snow at her house in North Covington. When I got to work, my mom said that dad called and it was snowing at Dow in Taft, LA, a few minutes later mom called and it was snowing at our house in Luling, 20 minutes later, it is falling in New Orleans! Some co-workers and I went outside to "play" in the snow and took some pictures. I felt like a kid again!

Also Todd and I went to the doctor yesterday and all is still looking wonderful. I only gained one pound in the month so that was very exciting. We got to hear the heartbeat again and it was at 160. While we were listening for the heartbeat, we heard this strange noise and I asked the nurse what is was and she said that the baby moved. I guess I would move too if someone was poking at me. We go back to the doctor on Thursday December 18th to find out what we are having!

I hope everyone gets to play in the snow today!

November 12th Doctor Visit

Just a short update. We visited the doctor again yesterday and everything is progressing just as it should. We got to hear the heart beat for the first time (153), what a soothing sound, it really verifies that there is a real little life inside of me. Dr. Waters measured my belly and everything was great. We scheduled our 20 week ultrasound where we will hopefully find out the sex of the baby. We go on December 18th! I can't wait to share the news.

My Precious God Child, Beau

My little man Beau has finally decided that he is getting too big for his baby crib so this past weekend, Rob and Dayna went out and purchased him his very first big boy bed. Uncle Todd and I thought that was so nice of him to give up his comfy crib that he loves so much so that the baby in Nanny's tummy can have a place to sleep when he or she arrives. It was really cute when we told him how nice that was of him to share his bed, he said that "yes nanny's baby can sleep in my room" we had to explain to him that Nanny and Uncle Todd would take the baby bed to their house so the baby can sleep in its own room. Enjoy Beau's last picture with his baby bed and a couple of pictures in his new big boy bed. Also, I had to attach his first school picture. What a little man!

First Ultrasound

On Friday, October 17th Todd and I got to experience the most wonderful thing in the world. We got to see our little creation for the first time. It was beyond AMAZING! We laughed a lot through out the entire thing because our child apparently already has ADD. The baby would not keep still for anything. We got several good pictures but we could not get a good profile picture simply because it would not stay still long enough. Dr. Waters even called the baby a maniac. But she said everything looked absolutely wonderful. The heartbeat was strong and it had both legs and both arms and the spine looked great.

Our next doctor visit will be November 12th. Then the visit after that will be our 20 week ultrasound where we will be able to find out the sex of the baby. Well, Dr. Waters said if the baby is this active for that ultrasound, then they might not be able to get a good enough picture to determine the sex. Oh well, if we have to be surprised, I guess we will.

Our Big News!

On September 24th, I stayed home from work because I just wasn't feeling well at all. Todd had to work a partial day and all day, my mom kept telling me that I should do a pregnancy test just to make sure. But we had had two negative test about two weeks before so I was pretty sure I was not pregnant, certainly not on the first try! Just to please mom, when Todd got home around lunch time, I told him I was going to take another test, the last one in the pack. So I tinkled on the little stick and put in on the shelf and was helping Todd put up a towel rack in our bathroom. I took a glance at the test, knowing there would be just one line and I would be let down again. To my surprise, I saw a very faint second little pink line starting to appear! We could not believe it, could it be? Of course we had used our last test so we went to walmart that evening and bought the most expensive test you could buy! So Thursday morning I took another test and this time we hovered over the little stick while the little hour glass went back and forth, back and forth....and the result was....PREGNANT! That day at work I called my doctor to tell her and she wanted me to come in for my initial blood work and while I was there, I pee peed in the little cup so they could confirm that I was really pregnant...my two test did not lie! WE ARE HAVING A BABY! YAY!
